About NAMA

NAMAis a federal government Parastatal supervised by the Federal Ministry of Aviation and mandated to provide Air Traffic and Air navigation Services in Nigeria. It was established by the Act of Parliament No. 48, commencement date of 29th May 1999, as a body corporate with perpetual succession and common seal; that may sue or be sued in its corporate name and shall own, hold or dispose of property ( whether movable or immovable). The agency is overseen by a governing board which is headed by a part time chairman who will be appointed by the President and Commander In-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for a term of four (4) years.

It is incumbent upon NAMA to manage the Nigerian Airspace to a level that is consistent with the requirements of the ICAO SARPs and make it rank among the safest in the AFI region indeed, the world over.The agency is charged to provide air navigation services throughout the Nigerian Flight Information Region. The agency which office is at MurtalMuhammed International Airport provides air traffic control, air navigation, charting and consulting services to the country’s 25 towered airports and at its two air traffic control centres. NAMA also strives to develop the Nigerian airspace infrastructure to a level consistent with the requirements of the ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs).

1) Air Traffic Control Officer Cadets

The applicants for this position will be mandated to take the Air Traffic Course at NCAT, Zaria. The Air Traffic Course at NCAT, Zaria is a programmed supervised by NAMA upon completion will avail the candidate an award of a College Diploma. Also, candidates who successfully complete the course would be offered permanent employment into NAME.

However, applicants for this position should have a good University degree in any of the following discipline: Physics, Geography, Mathematics or any of the Physical Science

The age limit for this job is not more than 28 years of age as at the time of applying for this job. This is a Training Post and Candidates selected will undergo 24 Months training.

2) Air Traffic System Officer II & I (GL 08 & 09)

Candidates should possess a good University degree or HND in Electrical/Electronics, Computer and Mechanical Engineering, Telecommunications and Physics with Electronics

Experience on similar position will be added advantage.Candidates applying for this post must not be above 28years of age as at the time of applying for this job.


General Requirements for 2019 NAMA Recruitment

  1. must have good communication and management skills.
  2. are expected to have a bachelor’s degree or a master degree in other relevant discipline in the quantitative field.
  3. should literate in computer operating especially in the following areas: microsoft office, web applications and also relevant applications for effective service delivery.
  4. must be physically and mentally sound.
  5. must be a Nigerian
  6. must have attain the age of 18 years and above
  7. must be free from any criminal convictions
  8. must be a degree holder depending on the section you are applying for.
  9. must present a medical fitness certificate from a recognized Government hospital
  10. must have a valid ID card: Voters card, National ID Card, National Passport, etc.

After you have met the necessary general requirements, you should now proceed to check the required academic qualifications you should possess and they are:

NAMA Academic Requirements for Recruitment 2018

  1. West African School Certificate (WASC) or Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSSC) with Credits in not less than three (3) subjects including English and at least passes in two (2) other subjects; or
  2. National Examination Council (NECO)/General Certificate of Education (GCE) Ordinary Level with passes in four (4) subjects obtained at one sitting or five (5) subjects obtained at two sittings including English Language.)
  3. National Diploma (ND) obtained from a recognized institution (for applicants using ND).
  4. National Certificate of Education (NCE) from a recognized institution (for applicants using NCE); or
  5. Sc. for graduates applicants

Nile University Admission Procedures.

Nigerian Applicants:

  • Nigerian students seeking admission into the University must take the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Examination or UTME and obtain the approved cut-off mark for that year. Also the candidates are required to present 5 credits at no more than two sitting. Please refer to your respective faculty for full requirements other useful information and/or specifications.

Foreign Applicants:

  • Unlike Nigerian applicants, all foreign applicants must provide their corresponding Examination Results as well as their academic transcript of previous high schools.

Transfer & Direct Entry Students:

  • Direct Entry candidates are those who have completed one of the following: OND, HSE, HND, ‘A’ level GCE, SBS, and IJMB or any other higher qualification. For this method of entry to NTNU, candidates who have 9 points or above will be admitted to 200level based on the three subjects taken. Generally, those candidates who have below 9 points will be admitted to commence at 100 Level.
  • Transfer candidates from national universities are generally given preference except in cases where the candidate is on academic probation. In such cases, the candidate may be admitted to a lower level. For this method of admission, a grade point average of 1.50 CGPA (3rd class) on a 5.0 scale will permit the candidate to transfer and commence from their appropriate level.
  • Additionally, admission into an undergraduate degree program of the University shall be based on the Faculty and Departmental requirements, visit your respective Faculty for more. Alternatively, you can check Entry Requirements for all programmes offered by NNU.

How to Apply for Nile University Post UTME Form.

Admissions shall be opened to all, irrespective of Nationality, Sex, Physical ability and Religion provided that the applicant duly completed his/her application form, and with valid information accordingly.

Each candidate should summit following documents to admission office:

  • Completed and Signed Application Form
  • Copy of Official Senior Secondary School Transcript
  • Copy of Official Senior Secondary School Certificate
  • Copies of Official Examination Results
  • Guarantor’s Letter/attestation of Financial Support
  • Medical Report & Immunization records
  • Letter of Recommendation from Secondary School Counsel/Principal
  • 4 Recent Passport Photograph

  • Create your Postgraduate account by clicking on Create your PG Account

  • Login to the PG Portal with your created PG account email address
  • Generate and print out your payment invoice containing your payment RRR
  • With the generated RRR, pay application fee of N10,000.00 using REMITA services (card or bank payment):

For Card Payment: Visit, Click on “Pay an Electronic Invoice”, Enter your generated RRR (Remita Retrieval Reference), and process your payment with relevant card details.

For Bank Payment: Visit any bank of your choice that offers REMITA services and pay using your generated RRR (Remita Retrieval Reference) on your payment invoice.

  • Return to the University’s PG Portal to confirm your payment.
  • Complete your application form online and print out your Bio-data Slip
