Career

The Nigerian International currently plays as a winger for Eliteserien side Rosenborg. He is known to be a skillful player able to deliver on the pitch, Adegbenro can play in many positions and can do better playing in the center as well; as an attacking midfielder or striker.

Club career

After moving away from Prime FC, he resorted to Kwara United where he got ranked as the club’s most valuable player by the then general manager, Alhaji Haruna Maigidasanma, after the first half of the 2014 season.

After showing his worth at Kwara United, Adegbenro moved to Norwegian Premier League club Viking on February 2015, signing a four- year deal with the club. On 6 April 2015, the wing wizard played his first match for Viking against Mjøndalen, he could not do much to help them overcome 1–0 lost. Adegbenro saw the first net at the club in Eliteserien against Molde at home, a match which Viking won by 2-1. Making 24 appearances in the season, he scored 5 goals and assisted another 5. He made 28 appearances, 3 goals and 1 assist in the 2016 season.

On 15 August 2017 Adegbenro moved to Rosenborg for around 15 million NOK, signing a four and a half-year contract. Two days later he scored on his debut after coming off the bench securing Rosenborg a 1-0 away win versus Ajax in the first leg of the 2017-18 UEFA Europa League play-off round. In the second leg a week later, Adegbenro scored twice to help Rosenborg reach the 2017-18 UEFA Europa League group stage in a 3-2 win at home.

Adegbenro is yet to feature for his country, Nigeria in any international match.

Honours

The talented frontman was rewarded for his performance and awarded William Danielsen’s memory goblet in his debut season at Viking on 15 March 2016.
